Librarians, Bookstores and FREE Coloring Page

I went to Washington DC to attend the ALA or the American Library Association's annual conference. I stayed at my friend Virpi's apartment and passed the White House a few times.

I attended some parties, walked the exhibit floor and met many of my colleagues. I Love Librarians!

I also love bookstores! On July 10 I read and signed books at a Beach Party for the brand new independent bookstore called Boulevard Books and Cafe in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn.

I felt warmly welcomed by the neighborhood community.

And signed almost all the books the store had in stock. Thanks!

Books and art make us aware of the world we live in. Please keep nature's world alive. Color the beautiful ocean and all her creatures for FREE. Click on the image to enlarge and download. Have fun!

Cool idea - posting free coloring pages for the readers. Another illustrator I know in Georgia also does a "coloring Tuesday" - you may want to check her blog out to see what she's about. She posts something every day, which amazes me that she has that much content to post every day. Of course, of late, as I have more news I've been posting on my blog a good bit too, but still not every day.

Carol Baldwin sent me your website and told me to check you out. E :)

Hi Elysabeth,
Thanks for writing and all the best with your books.
How anyone has the time to blog everyday astounds me. Someone must be doing her writing, illustrating, marketing, appearances, logistics, agenting, housework, cooking, and pay the bills.
I wear too many hats to be so consistent. If only someone would pay me for blogging! At this point, blogging is creative fun and not a task. So I blog when it moves me to write about what feels significant or adds value for my readers.
I certainly have B&W content having illustrated over 1600 originals. Each with a sketch. So maybe coloring pages once a week is a good idea. Thanks for your input and I'll be checking out your blog. Many thanks for writing to me. Hope you will stop by again soon. Best Wishes, Melanie

I'm glad you had fun visiting my old stomping grounds, Melanie! I hope we can have you over to my current stomping grounds on an SCBWI visit sometime soon!
